Looking Beyond the Obvious
Bullying does not always happen in classrooms.
It can happen:
In hallways
Bathrooms
Locker rooms
School buses
Cafeterias
Stairwells
Playgrounds
Online
Sometimes there are adults nearby.
Sometimes there aren’t.
The school reviewed where my sister had reported the incidents.
Then something unexpected happened.
A staff member remembered seeing a group of students gathered near one of those locations several times.
That wasn’t proof.
But it gave the school somewhere to begin looking.
What I Saw at School
A few days later, I visited the school for a scheduled meeting.
As I walked through one of the hallways, I saw something that made my blood run cold.
A group of students was standing near the lockers.
