The unexpected choice that turned everything upside down
A few minutes of dazedness. Barely enough time to hold back a few tears. Then something awoke in her.
At the back of the wardrobe, unharmed, carefully ironed: his ceremonial air force uniform. Decorations, badges, ribbons — absolutely impeccable.
They had wanted to bring her down. They had simply forgotten which woman they were dealing with.
Before daybreak, Sarah had joined her mentor, General Ávila. As he listened to him, the latter smiled benevolently: "They really think you can stop an officer with a pair of scissors? »*
His entry into the church silenced the congregation
On the morning of the wedding, the guests began to get agitated. In the front row, Sarah's family waited, sure of themselves. Convinced that she had won the game.
The doors opened.
Sarah appeared in full ceremonial uniform. The process assured. Each medal sparkling under the light. The veterans present stood up spontaneously. The rest of the assembly followed.
