Julian chuckled as he tore off the paper and opened the lid.
Then he screamed.
Everything stopped.
The cardboard lid hit the floor. Victoria stood up in confusion. Guests froze mid-breath.
I rushed forward, my heart pounding against my ribs.
Inside the box wasn’t anything physically dangerous. It was worse.
Photographs. Stacks of them. Printed, high-resolution, labeled with dates and timestamps.
The top one showed Julian kissing Victoria in a parking lot—four full months before our divorce.
Another showed her getting into his car while I was home alone with a feverish Noah, believing Julian was working an emergency shift at the law firm.
Then more. Proof after proof. Hotel check-ins, flight confirmations, secret getaways.
Victoria’s face drained of color.
Julian looked at Noah like he didn’t recognize him, his hands shaking violently as the photos scattered across the table. “Where did you get these?”
Noah didn’t flinch. “From your old cloud account. You forgot to log out on my iPad.”
The atmosphere shifted instantly from polished elegance to jagged tension.
Victoria whispered, her voice cracking, “These are from before you told me everything was over. You swore you were separated!”
Julian said nothing. That silence said enough.
Noah lifted the mic again.
“You said leaving my mom was the best decision of your life,” he said. His voice trembled once, then steadied into unwavering certainty. “But you were cheating before you left.”
I reached him, my hand on his shoulder, but he continued.
“You told me you never lie,” he added, looking straight at his father. “That wasn’t true either.”
Gasps spread across the room.
