“You’re doing this again.” Her voice climbed a register. “Turning one bad night into an interrogation. Lucy’s always had a sensitive stomach and you cannot let this family have one difficult evening without treating all of us like suspects.”
“I have the footage, Vanessa.”
Her mouth shut.
“I have Priya’s records. I have a trust amendment dated eight months after Grandpa died, with a signature that doesn’t match anything he ever signed while he was alive.”
Three seconds of nothing. I watched my sister decide something behind her eyes.
“You have no idea what you’re accusing me of.”
“Then tell me.”
“You weren’t here.” Her voice cracked — a crack I might have believed a year ago. “Not when Grandpa got sick. Not when this company needed someone to actually run it instead of question it from a bunker overseas. I built something. I kept four hundred people employed. And the second I make one decision you don’t like, you fly home and burn it to the ground.”
