Lucía asked.
Alejandro looked at her.
“Yes.”
She flinched.
He continued.
“Photographs.”
“Of you with a man.”
“Entering an apartment.”
Lucía stared.
“What man?”
“I don’t know.”
“You believed them?”
Alejandro looked down.
“For a while.”
“Who gave them to you?”
He already knew.
“Ramón.”
The room became silent.
Lucía laughed softly.
Not because anything was funny.
“So he told you I betrayed you.”
“And told me you abandoned me.”
Alejandro nodded.
“He told me you emptied a private account before leaving.”
“I had no access to your private accounts.”
“I know.”
“Now.”
Again.
That word.
Now.
Everything was clear now.
Seven months too late.
Alejandro took out his phone.
He called his head of security.
“Mateo.”
“I need every access record involving Ramón Salazar for the last year.”
“Email.”
“Financial systems.”
“Estate security.”
“Office archives.”
“Do not alert him.”
Then he called the company’s independent general counsel.
